Creating......

Today I have spent a fair bit of time creating!! I enjoy creating! This time I am making some 21st invites for a lady at work. She wanted hand made one but wanted purple on black, which is nigh on impossible to do at home with a home printer. I made a few mock ups using purple on white, with purple mounts and purple ribbons, after doing around 5 different types I hit on the idea of making the bulk of the invite in photo shop and then sending the resulting file to photobox for printing. That has worked it has resulted in purple on black as she wanted. The photos look good and I have stuck on ribbon on the front and then mounted the whole lot on purple card.

They have turned out well, although they have been time consuming, its easy to under estimate how long simple cutting and sticking can take. Any how I have now made 110 of the 125 she requires, nearly there!!!

We went to see Mum yesterday ad she is still making good progress, she has had more physio and has been walking around. Her new bed is good, its by a window so there is a coolness coming off of the glass. They have replaced the air mattress with a regular mattress which she fines easier to deal with, so all is good. The only thing that gets to me is when we turn up she straight away goes into moany old lady mode, including the annoying old lady voice. It really grates on me, as there isn't really any point in it. As soon as you tell her she stops doing it and reverts to normal. Arrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Bring on the Hearts!

Along with the cup cakes I stamped some multi coloured hearts with chalk ink and sparkled them up a bit with glitter glue, again very simple but I like them!!
Its nice using the darker colours, green is always my favourite choice.
I do like making cards, its therapeutic!!
Hope you all have a good week, don't work too hard!

Quick Card Making

I seem to go through times when I do a lot of one kind of thing, this weekend its been so hot that I sat in front of the fan and made cards. During the week I stamped out some cute little cup cakes, I have no idea who makes the stamps, but they come in individual pieces so you can mix and match them. I like the little sprinkles that you can put on the cakes, which I then touched with glitter glue. So this card is simple, but actually looks pretty effect  in the flesh!!
I am a fan of less is more, I am not afraid of the wide spaces on cards!! The little greetings discs are from craft creations. The patterned paper is from a pad called Nana's kitchen by DCWV. (my bargain from Dunelm mills)

This paper is from a pad that I have had for ages, its running a bit short now so I am worried what I will do once its run out!!!

I tried a couple of cards with darker colours .

After making cards there are always lots of little bits left over, I cut them all into little squares and made them into a card of their own. I also stamped some hearts last week and I will post those later in the week.

New baby Card - Di Hickman Blog

I have made this card using the very versatile Crafters Companion CD Roms. These cd's have loads of printable card elements in lots of different colourways, they are simple to use and look very effective! So the gingham paper and the buttons paper is from a cd. the blossom is a stray found on my desk as is the button. I have used Studio G letter stamps and a black zig marker to do the doodles.

Card For Di Hickmans Blog

This week I have made a card that covers those awkward times when you want to acknowledge that something has happened to someone but you don't know what to say.
The back ground paper is from Papermill, the yellow is from Paper adventures (ancient now) and the buttons are from gcs international - available in a selection of poundshops!!!! The greeting is from K and Co.
Take a look at the other cards over on Di Hickmans blog!

Hurrah !! A Card for Di Hickmans Blog.

Its been ages since I made a card for Di's blog. She has recently had a break and prior to that I had a busy month and was unable to join in, so its nice to be back.
This card is again made from odds and ends I had lying around, the paper is by Paper Adventures and the chocolate drops and greeting are by craft work cards. Its a simple card which is masculine in feel.
Pop over to Di Hickmans blog and take a look at the the other cards.

Thank You - For Saturday!!!

I can make no excuse for the simplicity of these cards, I needed something quick and easy. Carl announced he needed some thank you cards in 10 minutes flat so I had to get on with it!!! They are simple but they actually look quite effective, the mirror card looks better in 'real life' but they will serve his purposes!

I have used a crafters companion CD to print the papers and the greeting is a Hero Arts stamp.
So here we are at the weekend, I have loads to do, we are going to pop over and see Laura and then try and get Beth a few bits for her summer holiday. I would rather be making beads !!!
Looks like another nice day weather wise.
